THE CASTLE OF PALAZZO
THE ORIGINAL CASTLE
This characteristic centre has developed along the slopes of Monte Caudino. It has stone walls and a well-preserved entrance. It was disputed by various dioceses and followed the same fate as Rocca Contrada. The local churches of S. Settimio and S. Stefano contain precious paintings. The nearby church of S. Anna has frescos attribuited to Piergentile and Venanzo. It is also the birthplace of the famous Vici family of architects.
