THE ORIGINAL CASTLE
It marked the border between the Longobard Ducky of Spoleto and the Byzantine Pentapolis. It was enlarged and fortified in the Xlllc when it was conquered by Arcevia. The charming medieval centre and surrounding walls are well preserved. In the church of S. Lorenzo is a terracotta altar piece (XVIc) as well as frescos and wooden statues. At the foot of the hill stands the beautiful church of S. Ansovino (Xlc). The interior capitals are particularly impressive.
